A Vision of Students Today

Web 2.0 Tutorial...

This Wikispace was created by someone from the Ning in Education social group on Ning.com for fellow teachers who might need a little but of a tutorial in utilizing Web 2.0 tools that are free. Presenting the Web 2.0 Tutorial.

Technology Entertainment and Design

Sounds like an educational workshop and it is to a certain degree but mostly it is 1000 brilliant, successful, dynamic individuals from around the world that meet in Monteray each year. The conference is invitational and costs $6000. to attend. Hmm, much cheaper to listen to the speakers online! Freakonomics author Steven Leavitt, National Geographic Explorer Wade Davis, and Richard St. John with a great look at what makes people successful are just a few of the fascinating videocasts you can enjoy for free. Check it out!

Integrating Google Calendar into Wikispaces

So I don't know why it's taken me so long to realize this, but you can maintain a Google Calendar for your classroom and then in a Wikispaces Page, you can EMBED the HTML-URL of the calendar that you've elected to make public! It's pretty easy and looks sharp; much sharper than trying to "make" a calendar in WikiSpaces and wikitext! :) Check mine out. Go to http://macscience.wikispaces.com and click on my Calendar link in the navigation menu. Enjoy!

There must be a way to adapt this concept for student use...

Every post is a graph and every graph is on an index card...mostly appropriate for adults...at indexed.

A New Way to Look at Maps!

Worldmapper gives us a fantastic new way to look at maps! This is a map of the world based on the number of physicians per person. The continent of Africa has virtually disappeared. Check out all of the different ways to view the world.

Welcome to the new Dream On technology space. Enjoy!

Could we get one of these in each kid's hands!? Think of how cool that would be!
  • How about in every teacher's hand? Instant snow updates without tuning into KGMI circa 1950.....

Check out this Interesting blog on Technology standards and professional development Texas style. I liked the flow chart that delineated different subject areas like math and social studies.

Hey everyone! I just created a wikispace for the Elementary Web Resources for Teachers course! Check it out and let me know if you'd like to be part of its development! Gawd... these wikispaces are addictive! Our district should just install a wiki server and let us all go nuts!
